Last week Year 2 were lucky enough to visit the Seashore Centre at Goodrington Sands in Paignton.
As well as learning about different sea creatures and having the opportunity to try rock pooling, the children had a go at creating sand sculptures. Their sand sculptures were inspired by the sea and the creatures who live there.
This fitted in very nicely with both our Seaside and Sculpture topics.
Here is a link to the website of a man called Mark Anderson who is a sand sculptor who creates amazing sculptures from sand. On his website he gives some tips for making sand sculptures and there is also a gallery of his sculptures.
