This activity is taken from the Tate Kids website and is part of a series of live online art sessions from last summer.
During the video, you
will be shown how to make two different collages.
First,
artist Kirstie Beaven will show you how to make a collage full of energy by
using shapes. She will talk about artists you might want to take as inspiration
including:
Kazimir Malevich Dynamic Suprematism 1915 or 1916 Tate |
Kara Walker The Keys to the Coop 1997 Tate © Kara Walker |
Jalal
Shemza
Anwar Jalal Shemza © The estate of Anwar Jalal Shemza
Composition with Number Six 1966 |
Eileen Agar Tate Archive © The estate of Eileen Agar |
Once you've made your shapes collage, you will make a portrait by drawing round your head and filling it with all the things you like and think about.
