Dotty about Spots! Yayoi Kusama - Year 1 -Contrasting colours

 

Year 1 children have been learning about the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.

Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist who is sometimes called ‘the princess of polka dots'. Although she makes lots of different types of art – paintings, sculptures, performances and installations – they have one thing in common, DOTS!

The children made spotty flower sculptures inspired by Yayoi Kusama.


They also investigated contrasting colours and produced some fantastic spotty fruit pictures using cotton buds!
