Vincent van Gogh - Year Three

Between 1881 and 1890, Van Gogh painted nearly 900 pictures. He only sold one painting while he was alive. For most of his life he was very poor, often spending his money on art supplies instead of food. Van Gogh sadly died at the age of only 37.

Since his death though he has become one of the most famous painters in the world. His paintings have captured the hearts and minds of million of art lovers worldwide.

Children in Year Three have re-interpreted two of his most well known works 'The Starry Night' and 'Sunflowers'

The Starry Night display is outside our Year Three classrooms and the Sunflower paintings are on display in Mr Banwell's office.  Come and have a look if you can!
