The Big Draw is the world's biggest drawing festival with
thousands of enjoyable, and mainly free, drawing activities which connect
people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators
- and each other.
The Big Draw is for anyone who loves to draw, as well as
those who think they can't!
This year's theme is 'Every Drawing Tells A Story'. View this mini
magazine for inspiration!
So... How can you get involved in the Big Draw?
Torquay Museum is holding a Big Draw event on Saturday the 3rd October.
Choose your favourite object from the museum and recreate
it, make a life-size drawing of yourself and more! Take the whole family and help create two
communal artworks that will go on display in the Museum later on in October as
part of the Encounters Arts 'Museum of Now' project, as well as learn simple
drawing tips with artist Shelley Castle.
You could also take a small object from home that you've
inherited from your family or something precious from home that you would like
to immortalise with a drawing.
The Big Draw Monster Sat is working with ‘Aging Well’
Festival and would like lots of grandparents, great aunties and great uncles
aged 50+ to come along and join in with the children’s activities!
Monster Saturdays take place on the first Saturday of every
month with family-friendly activities free for all with a museum ticket
(tickets are valid for one year so you can enjoy all the Monster Saturdays for
the next 12 months!). No need to book, just turn up and join in the activities!

As always I would love to see any art that you are inspried to create!
